Join me on June 28th with The East Van Arts and Culture Society for a Sashiko Mending Workshop!
We will explore the possibilities of Sashiko as a form of functional embroidery. Students will learn pattern application and proper Sashiko stitching by customizing their own tote-bags. These techniques will then be used to mend or revamp a personal item brought from home. Denim and woven garments are encouraged (no heavy knits please).
You’ll leave the workshop with the skills and materials you need to continue your mending projects at home!
Tickets can be purchased at: etsy.com/shop/MAKINGAMENDSshop/
When: June 28th 6:00-8:30 (with the option to stay until 9:00)
Where: East Van Arts and Culture Society — 1024 Main Street, Vancouver
What: Bring an item to repair or revamp
No prior sewing experience necessary. Snacks will be provided. Just bring yourself and an item you wish to repair or re-love!
