The 30th session of the Vancouver Youth Parliament has arrived!
Are you curious or passionate about politics? Do you have an idea for a project you’d like to implement in your community? Do you like fun? Then the Vancouver Youth Parliament is for you!
The Vancouver Youth Parliament (VYP) is the longest running Regional Youth Parliament held by the British Columbia Youth Parliament, a non-profit, non-denominational, non-partisan organization that aims to teach young people how to interact with and apply the legislative process. Members from Richmond, Delta, Queensborough, and Vancouver hold session annually to debate legislation, plan projects, and connect with passionate youth from across the region.
The 30th session of VYP will be held from June 23rd to 25th, 2017 in Vancouver, BC, and is open to youth between the ages of 14 and 18. Ambassadors traveling to Vancouver will be billeted with members living in the surrounding area unless alternative arrangements are made.
Applications are due by or before June 15th. Financial assistance is available upon request. Contact Ranil Prasad at [email protected]
**Due to the usual high volume of applications, some ambassadors may be turned away.**
We happily acknowledge that VYP could not happen this year without the gracious support of the UBC Political Science Students Association.
The Vancouver Youth Parliament encourages applications from women, youth of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people with (dis)ability.
We acknowledge that this event will be held on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Musqueam people.
