Poshlost is an ambient dream-pop project from Vancouver. In 2015, friends Alex Dobson, Rachelle Rovner and Andrew Rasmussen joined to create IFOU, an album drenching pop sensibility in a reverie of emotion. The trio followed up with In the Bottom of a Lake in 2016, a collection of largely improvised ambient works, recorded live off the floor. The limited edition cassette was made available online and in record stores in February 2017. Joining Big Smoke Records, the group has plans to release new material in Autumn of this year.
Ponytails came to fruition in March 2016, spawned from best friends Harvey Merrit (vocals, bass) and Travis Goeres (lead guitar) love of pizza and the theme music of Sylvester Stallone movies. Liam Ness (bass, rhythm guitar, vocals) and Simon Furminger (drums, vocals) joined in late March and in September 2016 started working on their self titled EP.
Australian born, Vancouver based singer Andrew Phelan writes close to the chest, and this heartfelt approach to songwriting quickly let him cut a path in the Canadian music scene as the charming front man of Vancouver Folk band The River and The Road. The past 5 years have included multiple cross Canada tours, shows across Japan and Australia, and a nomination for breakthrough album of the year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards.
These Guy is a Vancouver-via-Brisbane alt-pop group led by multi-instrumentalist and producer Joe Saxby. Their unconventional approach to pop songwriting sees them consistently blur the lines between experimentation and familiarity, between unhinged moments of violent exploration and more subdued musical downtime.
