We practice being stressed often enough: we also need to practice rest. Restorative yoga is a deeply relaxing form of yoga that can calm anxiety, improve digestion and immune function, and help us sleep. By supporting our bodies with props in restful positions for 5-10 minutes at a time, we practice mindful calm, a habit that can help us greatly in our day-to-day lives. We will also include mindfulness meditations and other practices that we can apply to our practice and continue to use in our day-to-day lives. In this class, Julie provides personal attention to each person through the use of props and sometimes gentle supportive touch. Please let Julie know if you do not want to receive that attention.

This class is an excellent support for people working with injuries, chronic pain, stress, anxiety, insomnia, pregnancy, and many other human conditions, as long as resting quietly in a room with other people is comfortable.

Sundays, 12:00-1:15pm

7 classes: September 10th-October 29th (No class September 17th; Julie will be teaching complimentary yoga classes in Grandview Park for Drive Day)

$119+tax before September 5th

Late registration (after September 5th) $133+tax

*Registration for the full class comes with one Bonus Class that may be used before the end of the session for any other class on the schedule that allows drop-ins or to bring a friend to class (space permitting; please enroll online before class).

Julie Peters, MA, E-RYT 500, has been practising yoga for over 20 years. While it's certainly physically helpful, she has found its true secrets are in the tools it provides to help us live better lives. Julie, who is also a writer with an MA in English Literature, runs Ocean and Crow Yoga with her mom, Jane.
