Join author Marion Mugs McConnell as she shares from her book Letters from the Yoga Masters — a treasure trove of previously unavailable material and techniques from a variety of different paths, all drawn from over 750 letters. Lets breathe, meditate and explore together while McConnell presents detailed teachings about pranayama, mudras, diet, and much more, interwoven with stories and personal anecdotes from Paramhansa Yogananda, Ramana Maharshi, Swami Sivananda and many other great yoga masters from the past.
Marion (Mugs) McConnell was first introduced to yoga as a teenager in 1973. In 1977 Mugs became a student of Yogiraj Dr. Hari Dickman, a disciple of Swami Sivananda, Paramhansa Yogananda, and many others. Hari used as text books over 750 letters written to him from these great yoga masters, and these are the source of Mugs' teachings.
Mugs was the Canadian Representative for the International Yoga Teachers Association (IYTA) from 1982-2016. She is a founding member (1995) of the South Okanagan Yoga Academy (SOYA), a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School that is unique in its adherence to IYTA standards (RYS200/300 advanced). In 2012 Mugs received a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of her lifetime contribution to the Yoga community in Canada and abroad. In 2013 she was the recipient of a Certificate of Appreciation from IYTA in recognition of her contributions to yoga around the world, and in 2016 she received an Award of Appreciation from Yoga Alliance for all her committee work with them.
