Eleven years ago, some new friendships formed over the love of Drum and Bass, meeting at Open Dex Sat at the ANZA, and DnB Friday's at the Met.
A year later they started organizing their own events to showcase the music they loved, settling in at the Back Stage Lounge after a few months of venue-hopping.
There was never really a goal, no 5 year plans or vision for the future, but something special had started. Something more than just the music. Friendships grew, and so did our following. Now the same music that brought us together was bringing other people together. Lovers met on the dance floors. People have found their passions and freedoms to express themselves and be whoever they want to be.
It's a special thing, the unifying power of music.
To celebrate 10 years of SHAHdjs, we're bringing back the Russian powerhouse who recently pummeled the crowd at Bass Coast main stage:
ENEI — Critical Records
We're super excited to (mostly) debut the new VAL VILLA at 494 Railway. This place is a GORGEOUS warehouse space, with an upper mezzanine surrounding the epic main room, a second smaller room, and one of the most beautiful and enormous courtyards in the city. This night will stand out in your memories.
This wouldn't be right without a solid crew representation, and of course some of our favourites that have been around since the early days:
SHAH: Willisist, Decibelpoint, Levrige (J.F.Killah+ Erski), Myles Away. Unfortunately Vasho and Kir Mokum will be in Europe.
HOMIES: Application Audio, Civillian, Soren Thomas Workshop, and Dark Arps will be laying it down in the 2nd room.
Aerial Acrobatics by Chordea (Marina Cat and Heather Alyse)
Buzz Oxygen Bar
Visuals by Folxlore
Custom stage backdrop by Caley Bourdon
Lighting by Brian BP Mackie of Cat's Eye Productions
Sound by Application
Stay tuned for more details, and of course a few surprises!
