Lozan Yamolsky and Kieran Egan
Poetry New Westminster, October 15th, 2017
Host: Candice James.
LOZAN YAMOLKY was born in 1972 and raised in Baghdad and western Iraq. She is of a Kurdish decent, however, she recently found out her DNA comes from Armenia. Her second poetry book (Counting Waves) published by Silver Bow, is dedicated to her maternal grandmother who she recently found out was an Armenian genocide survivor.
She immigrated to Canada in 1995 and has volunteered, studied, worked, been married and had children since then. Her first book (I'm No Hero) was also published by Silver Bow in October 2016.
She is presently a freelance interpreter, and works and volunteers helping refugees coming to Canada. And, yes, she still writes poetry.
Kieran Egan is a novice poet with only a handful of poems published or in press. He lives in Vancouver, and has taught at Simon Fraser University
