Come dance to the sounds of the Hot Water duo! Joe Abbott and Martin Reisle will be playing some tunes from the era/artists that made little distinction between jazz, blues, and country, blending them easily and enriching each in the process.
When I first saw Martin and Joe perform, I couldn’t stop dancing — there’s so much space to play with the rhythm, and their soulful singing drew me right in!
Beginner dancers and non-dancing music lovers are always welcome!
No partner required, and beginner dancers come get some tips at the 7PM lesson.
The evening will start with a beginner lesson, followed by a blues-fusion dance practica. There will be DJ’d music, while dancers of all levels can mingle, practice, and share moves and concepts that they’re working on.

Note to experienced dancers: Livewire aims to make live-music events as dance-friendly as possible. Live bands play songs that are around 4 minutes each, with a clear break between each song, and a variety of moods and tempos to keep everyone engaged.
Accessibility: No stairs!
Floor: The dance floor here is concrete, so you’re advised not to dance in delicate slippers. Bex will share some tips during the practica of how to dance safely and gracefully on concrete. She has studied with Odissi dancers, who train exclusively on concrete with bare feet. (example: youtu.be/tp46Kvze4cY?t=7m48s
