Paintings with bright colours and rich textures offer a glimpse into four major indigenous artistic traditions in India! Surrey Art Gallery is the only stop in Canada for you to see the travelling exhibit Many Visions, Many Versions: Art from Indigenous Communities in India featuring 24 contemporary artists from the Gond and Warli communities of central India, the Mithila region of Bihar, and the narrative scroll painters of West Bengal.
A talk by the curator Dr. Aurogeeta Das will kick off the evening at 6:30pm; reception to follow at 7:30pm. Red FM is the media sponsor. The evening will also acknowledge the exhibit Canada, eh! by Fraser Valley Quilters' Guild currently on display.
