Pride goes to the Capital on Davie! Come join Pride friends and family for a night of socializing. While there will be drinking of alcoholic beverages, sober folx are welcome to join us well. Some members of Pride can meet folx at the Pride Lounge (NEST 2103) around 5pm to transit together to the venue. Feel free to come join us at a later time or meet us at the Capital is located on Davie and Bute.
This pub night is being held on the unceded lands of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), and Səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations. Even though we might just be celebrating, hanging out, and drinking, we still need to uphold the politics of decolonisation – which means not only being mindful and respectful of the public space that we are in while drinking, but also not letting genuinely harmful politics slide just because we are in an informal, social situation.
The Capital is wheelchair accessible and can be reached by transit (#6 bus) and there is street parking for those not using public transit. All washrooms are single stall and there is a wheelchair accessible washroom as well. The noise at the Capital can be fairly loud and though we cannot control the use of perfumes and colognes by those outside our group we still encourage people to respect our scent reduced policy. There will be at least one safer space person present at the event for anyone who needs to talk.
