A presentation and Q&A on personal tax accounting for independent filmmakers, by Sherrill Sirrs Inc.
This two-hour workshop will cover essential details of record-keeping, form filling and smart accountancy for DIY accounts, bookkeepers and accountants, describing important differences in approach. A 30 minute presentation will be followed by in-depth Q&A.
Topics covered will include:
Accountancy Status
GST/PST
Keeping Records & Forms
Bookkeepers vs Accountants
Project Accounting
This workshop will be especially useful for artists working on a project basis, but applicable to accountancy for all practitioners paid as self-employed proprietors.
This workshop does not cover accounting for incorporated businesses. As the tax cycle for such organizations is flexible, a separate workshop will be arranged later in the year for this purpose.
