Emerging in late 2012 with a sound that was all his own, Tor’s debut album ‘Drum Therapy’ was the culmination of over a decade of quietly honing his craft, merging the aesthetics of dusty samples with polished production, addictive melody and unique driving percussion. After catching the attention of Emancipator, the album became the frst release to launch his new label Loci Records and led to supporting slots on several US tours and remixes for artists like ODESZA.
Tor’s sophomore album ‘Blue Book’ was released in summer 2016 and served as the perfect follow up – a natural evolution of the best qualities of his previous work, while pushing his sound forward with new sonic palettes, ideas and tempos. It’s a record that plays like a journey from start to fnish, with rhythmic bell patterns, chopped vocal harmonies, atmospheric swells, warm basslines, and a newfound love of analog synthesizers all creating a distinctive world. Since the album’s release Tor has gone on to curate the ‘Origins’ mix series, supported Emancipator on a sold out North American tour, remixed artists such as RUFUS DU SOL and CLOZEE and is performing multiple festival appearances including Shambhala, Electric Forest & Oregon Eclipse.

Chicago-based chillout producer, Edamame, delivers his 14-track album, Bask on Gravitas Recordings. The project is a balmy breeze, warping through feelings of absolute bliss and unadulterated serenity. While the compositions embrace an ambient motif, expressive percussion and graceful melodies weave energy throughout. Fans of CloZee, Bonobo, and Random Rab will resonate with this release. Setting the tone for the album, “Kishi Kaisei” blends angelic vocals with vivid drums. On “Sable,” Edamame and his Loci Records cohort Tor construct a dreamlike state through atmospheric and hypnotic sounds. The title track “Bask” tides in and out with a soothing bassline, feathered synths, and subtle vocals. “Passim”, which features the illustrious Emancipator, romances the ear drums by way of steelpan, sitar, and rolling percussion that culminates into a sensual outro.

Uniquely combining different styles and tempos of house, disco and techno, Vancouver's MA/AM crafts dreamy melodies and warm basslines with smooth, melancholy vocals. Comprised of long time Vancouver DJ/Producer Matéo and Producer/Vocalist Adam Biggs, MA/AM combines Mateo's experience keeping dance floor's sweaty, and Adam's attention to texture and detail, making them a unique breakthrough act to listen for.

Handsome Tiger
Handsome Tiger is the recently adopted moniker for Vancouver Producer/DJ Hussein Elnamer. It also happens to be the Arabic translation of his name, which only seems fitting since Elnamer has recently pounced into a new musical territory, switching up genres and leaving his indie rock past behind for electronic bass music. No stranger to the Vancouver music community, Handsome Tiger has supported and played countless shows over the last 2 years along with dropping over 10 releases. He has supported local and internationally known artists such as Ekali, Compa, Lady Chann, Greazus, Max Ulis, & Michael Red. As well as playing a headlining show in Bangkok Thailand on recent travels last spring. With a love of underground bass music he’s been a strong advocate and part in supporting and putting on many events in Vancouver’s underground Scene. Capping off 2017 with his release of the «Visions» EP and numerous bookings including his revered debut sets at shambhala and basscoast music festival. Pushing full steam into 2018 with solidified bookings and stock pilling new tunes, for a slew of releases planned for the new year. His productions sit in the low end realm with a cinematic, emotive feel that touch on mixing organic elements and instrumentation into his moving sounds. His DJ sets float around deep dance floor feels of hybrid bass, dubstep, grime, trap and more ~ with the occasional live guitar and vocals throw in the mix as well.
