We are so happy to announce a GREAT TANGO COUPLE straight from Buenos Aires here in Vancouver: JORGE LOPEZ AND SANDRA NACCACHE!!!
You do not want to miss this charismatic and authentic Argentinean couple!
They are going to teach a series of workshops on May 18th,19th and 20th and perform at Trocadero on May 15th.
They will be also available for private till May 22nd!!!
AND we are also so excited to announce a special SUNDAY MILONGA to say good bye to Sandra and Jorge after a full week of tango!!!

Understanding the forces: inertia/centrifugal/centripetal using the Giro and contra giro (with elements of sacada and lápiz)

Find freedom and pleasure in your Giros, From the simple to the complex in order to better improvise “THE SKY IS THE LIMIT”!
Understanding the Fundamental structure of the giros. Deconstructing and dissecting the giro into different segments creating various possibilities using the understanding and knowledge of the basic structure of the giro as a reference.

The cadencia, its pedagogical and technical understanding characterize and distinguish a good dancer. Musicality, interpretation and understanding musical phrasing are fundamental to transmit the art of the Tango. The union of both = Total harmony. Using different cadencia’s we will give you the tools to interpret freely to various orchestras.

An academic study of the technic and logical structure of the barridas how to produce them and receive them (integrating them into Giro variations)

ABOUT SANDRA
Of meditarannean background Sandra was born in Montréal, speaks 4 languages and currently lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina .With a degree in graphic design, creativity has always been her forte. Coming from a Ballroom and Bellydance background, she is an award winning choreographer and founder of the “Academie de Danse Sandra Naccache”. Sandra Danced with her former partner from 2006-2016 and is currently dancing with Jorge Lopez. Argentine Tango came into her life at a time when she was seeking something deeper in her dancing. In 2009 she decided to dedícate herself full time to the Tango.
She has studied with Carlos y Rosa Pérez, Gabriel Angio y Natalia Games, Nathalia Hills, Daniel and Cristina Nacucchio, Gustavo Naveira, Ruben and Sabrina Veliz and Martin Ojeda. They have been the most influencial teachers that have given her the proper tools to investigate the Tango and grow as a artist.
Traveling the world, she is a sought out professional teaching and performing the Tango in festivals, famous Milonga’s such as Salon Canning/ Porteno y Bailarin/ La Baldosa amongst others. She is regularly invited by several agencies to teach and perform on some of the most renowned cruise ships (including Princess, Cunard, Norweigan Breakaway, Oceanía Sirena). Sandra has worked in television and movies such as the Warner brothers movie “Upside down ”, “ L’Univers en Direct” and Asían reality tv show filmed in BuenosAires “Sisters over Flowers” amongst several others. In 2015 She has toured switzerland with one of Argentina’s most successful and famous orchestra’s of all time « Color Tango ». Her trajectory has been written about in several famous international magazines such as “Dance International”.
Many people ask Sandra why she loves Tango, her answer would be Tango is probably the only dance that cannot be truly felt and transmitted unless it is 100 % authentic that is why she has chosen it and it has chosen her.
ABOUT JORGE
Jorge López was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He started his journey with Argentine Tango at age 11 with Cristina Pugni and Mario Morales. He continued his studies at ACETA (Academia de Estilos Tango Argentino) being one of the lucky ones to be able to take classes with legendary masters of Tango Salon like Portalea, El Chino Perico, Carlos and Rosa Pérez, El turco José amongst others.
He has won distinguished prizes for participating in the Metropolitan Tango and Milonga Championships (2008 — 2009). Jorge has traveled throughout Europe, Latin America, Asia, USA and Canada teaching and performing in Festivals, famous Milonga’s and has helped develop various Tango community’s in different schools arround the world.
He was a member of several dance companies such as Hernan Pikin «Pasional», Corporación Tango, Bien de tango and Complejo tango.
Jorge’s expertise has led him to being invited to judge the metropolitan championships in Italy, Asia and Brasil.
