Celebrate the opening of MOA's newest exhibition with a remarkable evening exploring the political and social significance of artistic traditions in Latin American culture and folkloric arts. This provocative exhibition features two multi-sensory installations, including a mural painted on site by a women’s art collective from the Amazonian Shipibo-Konibo diaspora in Lima, Peru. Members of this collective will sing live for visitors at the opening. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet and hear live music by John Gonzalez, a Colombian-Canadian accordion player who specializes in Latin Music, Eric Ramirez who plays the congas, KeAloha Neoelani on drums and Yoendrys on trombone.
