Laughter yoga is a practice involving prolonged voluntary laughter. It is based on the belief that voluntary laughter provides the same physiological and psychological benefits as spontaneous laughter.
Breathing exercises are used to prepare the lungs, followed by a series of ‘laughter exercises’ that combine the method of acting and visualization techniques with playfulness. Before you know it, forced laughter soon turns into real and contagious laughter! The results are a riot!
The class is not a yoga class with movement. Laughter Yoga uses the ‘yoga’ in the name because of the breathing element of the practice. So no need to bring a yoga mat or change into exercise clothing!
