As the West Moberly and Prophet River First Nations are in court July 23 — Aug 10 to seek on injunction to stop the Site C dam from destroying their sacred places, we gather to remind the public and BC's Attorney General, David Eby, to honour Treaty 8, respect Indigenous law and enforce the Crown's duty to protect the Peace River Valley from settler colonial violence and treaty violations.
We will be near the corner of Robson & Hornby on Friday, Aug 10, 12 to 2 pm, holding BC accountable to walk its talk of reconciliation and to uphold its treaty responsibilities. We also invite people to come court watch in room 52 any time they can during this case.
FightC is a non-partisan, non-violent grassroots community group committed to stopping the Site C dam in solidarity with the Treaty 8 First Nations. All who love and respect the Peace are welcome to join us.
We gratefully acknowledge that this free assembly takes place on the Unceded Territory of the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish Nations
